  • Sara Bixler - Reversible Rag Rugs

Sara Bixler - Reversible Rag Rugs [5 remaining]

Create a rag rug with two completely different sides! Sara takes you through the process from preparing your fabrics to the unique tie-up and treadling that allows the warp to stich the different wefts to the top and bottom layers, creating the two-faced design. Plus, learn how to take this new skill to other projects, from placemats to double-sided garments.

  • Joanne Hall - Hands-on Drawloom Weaving

Joanne Hall - Hands-on Drawloom Weaving [8 remaining]

Don't miss this rare opportunity: Drawloom weaving comes to you! Joanne will have three working looms with drawloom attachments at this workshop, so you can play with traditional or modern patterns of up to 20 pattern shafts.
There's no need to bring your loom. But there's also the option to bring your own countermarch or counterbalance loom, and Joanne will teach you how to create these fancy patterns using the half-heddle technique which doesn't use the drawloom attachment. In either case, you'll be learning from a nationally-known expert.

Elisabeth Hill - Metaweave [Sold Out]

Join Lisa to learn how to create a weave that looks like weaving!
In this round-robin class, you'll explore multiple structures that can be used to produce images of weaving - most commonly, a large scale depiction of a plain weave interlacement.
And you can achieve that using lace weaves, deflected double weave, tied weaves and more, along with profile drafting, to learn about, design and weave samples with this "metaweave" design idea in mind.

After you finish this class, you will understand enough weaving terminology to follow project instructions and begin your floor weaving life.

Using open warps combined with meticulous woven areas, you'll learn how to weave textiles with fluid drape and dramatic contrasts of color and shadow. During your time with Robbie, her in-depth presentations will cover Frida Hansen's life and works.
